Nithyabodham Chidanandam Guru Brahma Namamyaham Thursday Satsang, 09-10-2014
The Meaning of This Hymn
This hymn tells how to approach the Guru. Its meaning: this body, this mind, this heart, this soul, this life, time, age, life span, this world — all mine, all that I am, Father, use it as you want. I am a machine in your hand. Do your work through me, fulfill my duty, join me in my goal, and make me free from life, Father. This is the meaning of this hymn.
Self-Sacrifice and True Devotion
Self-sacrifice is necessary for God’s realization. If you live as a devotee, you will become God’s. If you pretend to be a devotee, you will become corrupt.
There are seven types of devotion:
- Worship of nature
- Worship of man
- Worship of Lord Shiva
- Worship of Lord Vishnu
- Worship of Devi
- Admiration of science
- Worship of Guru
What Guru Means
Guru means Muladhi Swayambhu: Parabrahma Nada Swasvarupa. If you want to attain the Guru, you have to work for what is permanent in your body.
Five You Should Never Test
Don’t test these five people in life:
- Guru
- Mother
- Wife to husband, or husband to wife
- Your child
- Diamond
They should be loved and trusted, and not tested.
The Qualities of True Surrender
Sadhguru Ajna is an opportunity for you to shine as a Sadhguru.
- Your devotion should be eternal.
- Your faith must be pure.
- Your attention must be unwavering.
- Your surrender must be formless.
- Your gratitude should be pure.
- Your prayer should be constant.
- Your meditation should always be in the form of Chidananda.
Every moment you spend in the presence of Sadhguru will become an eye of wisdom for you. That eye of wisdom is within you: it removes the ignorance and foolishness that exists and creates infinite love and knowledge in you. It purifies your heart, realizes your soul, immerses you in the divine, and shows you its essence. The 112 divine eyes within you attain Nirvana due to the closeness of Sadguru.
Surrendering to Sadhguru
Offer your destiny, money, life, soul, and your Brahman to Sadhguru:
- Surrendering your duty to Sadhguru will get you freed from rebirth.
- By offering your money to Sadhguru, you will get rid of the enemy.
- Surrendering your life to Sadhguru will free you from debt.
- Surrendering your soul to Sadhguru will free you from sins.
- Surrendering your Brahman to Sadhguru will free you from death.
Those who are instruments in the hands of the Lord shine perfectly as the Supreme Soul. Those who surrender to God will surely be liberated — the same surrender explored in Thursday Satsang, 16/04/2015 and Thursday Satsang, 14/05/2015.
